I'll try and keep this brief...

I started out as a drummer in a band playing indie type music. I was getting more into house/techno so I bought a Roland SPD-8 drum pad to add more electronic sounds to the live set. One day, after some manual reading, I managed to connect this drum pad to my brothers Yamaha DX7s keyboard and the next thing I'm banging out basslines with my drumsticks. How cool was that?

That was the starting point of everything 'techno' for me, one 'box' led to another and I now have the modest studio you see on the equipment page. It took a lot of hard work to get to the point where I'm at now, especially with song writing. I didn't know how to put a chord together when I got my first keyboard but some of the music I grew up listening to only used 3 chords anyway! I didn't see this as a problem!?! An advantage in some ways, I didn't know the musical 'rules' you were supposed to keep to and found my own way to the end of a track! Dance music will always be about beats and bass, if you've got them sorted you won't go too far wrong...

I currently have no plans to play live as I much prefer spending my spare time learning new stuff in the studio and knocking tracks together, whether it be my own, with other musicians or remix work. Although I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the fastest songwriter in the world! Hopefully this website and my mySpace page should eventually get my music across to a wider audience.

I have been influence by many artists, far too many to list here but some of the stuff I'm listening to at the moment includes: CSS, Junkie XL, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Nine Inch Nails, Datarock, Depeche Mode, Ladytron, Thievery Corporation, Unkle, Onetwo, Tom Middleton, Asian Dub Foundation, Arcade Fire, Groove Armada and Tom Middleton.
I'm always listening to older stuff as well, your tastes do change as you grow up, stuff you might have dismissed in the past can sound OK on another listen. When you're sample hunting, you tend to end up with all sorts of stuff you wouldn't normally buy and this always throws up some surprise finds.

My next immediate plans are to get this CD out to friends, music magazines and record companies to see if there is anyone else out there that likes the stuff I'm doing.
I've bought a couple of new 'toys' for the studio which are itching to be used on some new tracks so I will be starting work on them next.

Please feel free to download any of the tracks from this site or have a listen to them using the player on the home page. If you have the time, I would be interested to know what you think of them, especially if you like similar types of music. Drop me a message from my contact page. Thanks for listening.
